Flags for Heroes

Be part of a local tribute to the heroes in our lives – past and present by honoring your personal hero. It could be a member of the military or police, fire or other first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day. It could be a teacher, a coach, a mentor, a community leader. It could be anyone who has been a hero in your life. Starting with an opening ceremony on Thursday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m., 200 flags will be flown at Oak Creek Community Center. A hero tag listing the donor name and their personal hero will be placed on each sponsored flag. To find out how you and/or your organization can participate, contact Rotarian Tamara Morgan at 414-301-3119 or info@rcomf.org.

Each lifelike dinosaur has character and appeal, making the exhibit engaging and interactive for visitors, as there’s something about dinosaurs that continues to fascinate people of all ages. DNA Extraction Every organism on Earth, from bacteria to strawberries to humans, contains DNA. Stop by this activity to learn how nature's instruction manual can be extracted from strawberries! Skull School Scientists who study animal bones will tell you that, when you really know your stuff, you can read an animal skull like a book. In the Skull School activity, we’ll observe a set of “mystery” skulls to see what we can learn. We’ll explore the concepts of predator and prey, and what skulls and teeth tell us about the skills animals use for staying alive in the wild. We’ll also examine a new report about how the skulls of early humans reflect unique developments in how we learned to express emotion.
