Moon Day at The Milwaukee Public Museum

Join us from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for FREE out-and-indoor demonstrations and activities for all ages

- Look to the skies using professional telescopes outside
- Launch your own balloon rocket in MPM’s courtyard
- Make a paper rocket with Milwaukee Public Television
- Talk to our experts about this momentous event and see objects rarely displayed at MPM before, including:
- NASA artifacts like parts from the Apollo 8 navigation system that allowed astronauts to be brought safely to the moon and back to earth for the first time
- Apollo 11 photos, including an autographed photo of all three astronauts signed after they were awarded the first-ever Père Marquette Discovery Award on November 8, 1969
- The Milwaukee Journal from July 21, 1969 celebrating the landing
- Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 coins
