Camp Vertical is Elmbrook Church’s High-Energy, faith-based summer day camp for kids entering 2nd through 8th grade. Camp Vertical is all-day, held weekdays, with optional morning and afternoon extended care. Located at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI, we are just a mile off Interstate 94, near Waukesha and in the heart of the greater Milwaukee area. Each day, hundreds of children will be out in the sun having a blast! Kids have the opportunity to choose a different activity group each week, while participating daily in all-camp games, as well as worship and bible-based teaching.
As you sign for camp, your camper will be able to choose one activity group per week to participate in during Camp Vertical! We have lots of fun planned in all of our groups – you won’t be disappointed! Our groups cover a wide range of activities like sports groups, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, movie-making, board games, dance and outdoor exploration.
For students entering grade 7, Camp Horizon is an amazing opportunity for your Middle Schooler to enjoy their favorite parts of Camp Vertical like worship, and high-energy games, along with middle-school specific activity groups, and opportunities to serve camp vertical. Camp Horizon also takes a deeper look at what it means to follow Jesus in Middle School, with opportunities to learn tools for how to have personal devotional times like reading scripture, worship and prayer. Middle Schoolers are young people on the Horizon of leadership. Camp Horizon gives them an opportunity to dip their toes in the pool of leadership by discovering who they are, and how their gifts may be used in the world around them
Our theme for this year is: "Around the World," and we are so excited about the opportunity to celebrate all the different cultures that the world has to offer. Campers will learn about and experience cultural aspects from different countries, like eating crepes by the Eiffel Tower, or an African Safari, and of course we will celebrate with lots of Fútbol! As we journey around the world, campers will learn about how following Jesus is the greatest adventure yet! Each week we will look at the journey of an individual or group of God’s people, and see how God used them for His purposes. From Abraham to Paul, campers will learn how to follow God’s call.
