Lakeshore Alive - Shine A Lite Celebration!

** THIS EVENT IS WEATHER-DEPENDENT, please check the Friends’ website https://friendslsp.org/events/ for updates The Friends of Lakeshore State Park, through the generosity of Shine A Light and Molson Coors, is excited to bring a free event to the park. Activities include Milwaukee Birders leading a bird walk, Wisconsin Kiters demonstrating amazing kites and volunteers help construct small, make-and-take kites - and all can roast marshmallows over fire pits and make tasty smore’s.

An opportunity for the Milwaukee Community to learn and have fun together, park activities will include:

By the Pebble Beach:

  • 2pm to 4pm: Milwaukee Birders share info on bird migration and bird species found in the park, plus a bird walk along the lagoon

  • 2pm to 6pm: Wisconsin Kiters will demonstrate their amazing kites

  • 4pm to 6pm: Make-and-take kites will be available for coloring and flying

  • 6pm to 8pm: Roast marshmallows over fire pits and make tasty smore’s

By the Lighthouse and Hoan Bridge:

  • Around dusk, the bridge will be illuminated in the colors of Friends of Lakeshore State Park. bring a blanket or chair and watch the show!
