Wicked: Part I (2024) adapts the first act of the stage musical, exploring the early lives of Elphaba (future Wicked Witch) and Glinda at Shiz University. The film focuses on their unlikely friendship, the persecution of talking animals in Oz, and their discovery that the Wizard is a fraudulent, manipulative ruler.
