A workshop is a place where all the materials are gathered, and space and time are set aside, to do the things that you do best. Workshops are personal places, with freedom to build at your own pace and produce something unique and useful. We've designed our preschool to be a workshop for children. In it our children will find the tools for one of the most challenging jobs of all: growing up.
Children's Workshop is open from September through May to potty-trained children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 6 years. The morning session is from 8:15 to 11:00 a.m. and our afternoon session is from 12:15 to 3:00 p.m. Children may enroll for 3, 4, or 5 half-day sessions.
Gross motor development is experienced as the children move independently from one area to another and choose from a variety of materials in each area. In following the Montessori Method of teaching and learning, children work alone or in small groups with a teacher to guide and help them when necessary.
