The Milwaukee County Historical Society is where Milwaukee's stories come to life! Located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee in the historic Second Ward Savings Bank building, MCHS inspires curiosity through interactive exhibits, family-friendly events, hands-on activities, and engaging educational programs for visitors of all ages.

MCHS also preserves more than 80,000 artifacts and one of the region's largest collections of historical photographs, manuscripts, and county records, ensuring Milwaukee's history is preserved and shared for future generations.
