Founded in 1945 as a safe and nurturing place for urban youth, families and seniors, Neighborhood House (NH) has grown into a an attractive 54,000 square-foot facility that serves more than 4,000 people annually. NH offers it YoungStar 5 rated accredited child care, Early Head Start and pre-school, programs for children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years. NH also provides and After-school and off day program for school age children at our main site and at Albert Story School. Further NH operates a Teen Program, its International Learning program for refugees and elders as well as an 11 week Summer Camp for children and teens..Neighborhood House inspires discovery in children and families of all backgrounds. We empower individuals to move beyond the barriers of poverty, gain self-sufficiency and realize their full potential. Neighborhood House goals align with major community initiatives aimed at helping people of all ages combat the devastating effects of poverty, including: 1.) Educational preparedness; 2) Academic engagement, enrichment and achievement; 3) Access to post-secondary opportunities; and 4.) Family engagement in the educational process.
